Maintenance Technician (Second Shift)
Location:
Lynchburg, Virginia Distribution Center – Synergetics
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on various office and building equipment.
- Assist supervisor in coordinating contract work for maintenance and repairs and assist in all projects and other duties as assigned.
- Schedule and maintain inspection of safety, security, and fire prevention equipment.
- Maintain spare parts inventory.
- Perform calibration testing of equipment as necessary.
- Address issues and maintain the Maintenance Service Request Ticket System.
- Maintain training up‑to‑date and compliant with all site and Quality requirements specific to the job.
- Lead projects and/or work groups.
- Make sound decisions and use problem‑solving tools.
- Multi‑task.
- Practice good interpersonal skills and work within a team‑oriented environment.
- Maintain working relationships with all site personnel, vendors, and contractors.
- Be a self‑starter and work with minimal supervision.
- Be able to use Windows‑based computer programs.
- All maintenance activities of the Lynchburg Distribution Center.
- Work under general supervision in all areas of the Lynchburg plant and adhere to all governing SOPs and regulations.
- Expected to work overtime during scheduled weekend work as determined by the supervisor which includes Saturday and/or Sunday and be flexible to work across shifts and holidays as necessary. Available for on‑call emergencies.
- Expected to follow all safety policies, procedures and practices including lockout/tagout, waste handling, electrical safety, emergency response, PPE and others.
- Provide support and oversight of approved vendors and service contractor activities to ensure compliance to procedures and regulations.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills and knowledge of plumbing and fabrication.
- 3–5 years maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
- Fork truck certification required – certification course provided after hire‑in.
- Knowledge of fire suppression systems.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
- Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Preferred skills:
Electrical, HVAC, Material Handling Systems, PLC Programming.
