At Midforest Vets, we pride ourselves on our close‑knit team, supportive environment, and commitment to delivering exceptional care. You’ll be part of a practice that blends tradition with modern veterinary medicine. Our Lyndhurst site is nestled in the heart of the New Forest, housed in a charming, thatched cottage that’s been serving the local community for over 35 years.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high‑quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences.

You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice.

This is a part‑time 12 month fixed term maternity cover position offering a work pattern designed to support a healthy work‑life balance. The role is based primarily at our Lyndhurst practice, working Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am to 7:00pm with participation in a 1 in 5 Saturday rota (8:30am–12:30pm). Occasional support at our Totton branch may also be required

General responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high‑quality nurse consultations and providing exceptional patient and client care
  • Providing outstanding inpatient nursing care, ensuring patient comfort, welfare, and recovery
  • Assisting with laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia monitoring, and surgical support
  • Triage and assessment of emergency cases, including clinical nursing duties such as IV catheter placement
  • Contributing to the smooth and efficient day‑to‑day running of the practice while maintaining high clinical standards

  • Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
