Salary: £35,000–£40,000 (DOE)

About the Company
Our client is a well-established, close-knit business with over 15 years’ experience delivering high-quality gate automation and access control solutions across Dorset. Known for their friendly approach and technical expertise, they work on a wide range of residential and commercial properties, offering bespoke installations and dependable service.
The Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Gate Automation Engineer to lead and support installations, commissioning, and maintenance of automated gates and access control systems. You’ll work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring all projects are delivered to a high standard while representing a brand built on professionalism and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, and maintain automated gate systems (swing, sliding, bi-fold, etc.)
* Fit and configure access control systems (keypads, intercoms, proximity readers)
* Diagnose faults and carry out repairs or upgrades
* Liaise with clients on-site to ensure smooth project delivery and clear communication
* Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
* Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Requirements
* Proven experience in gate automation and access control installation
* Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
* Full UK driving licence
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Able to work independently and manage time effectively
