• Responsible for the accuracy of the standard costs starting with the bill of materials and item costs, labor routings, labor rates, as well as overhead assignments. Report variances to upper management.
• Manage the performance of the plant, explaining all production variances on a weekly / monthly basis and participating in proactive measures to reduce variances from standard cost.
• Analyze and model changes in product design, raw materials, overhead, manufacturing methods, etc., for effects on production costs.
• Coordinate annual audits; serve as single point of contact with internal and external financial auditors.
• Analyze and report manufacturing efficiency variances and determine corrective action requirements.
• Ensure items are correctly classified and all reporting is prepared; tracking and reporting costs associated with new product development and contract manufacturing partners.
• Offer financial guidance and support to plant management for investments, cost reduction, and capacity planning; support plant/corporate cost savings programs.
• Provide guidance to ensure internal accounting controls protect company assets; maintain an adequate system of internal control and ensure general ledger accounts are correctly stated and compliant.
• Actively manage working capital, with capital budgeting.
