SummaryGrinds and polishes work piece as specified by drawings, job orders or guidelines.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Grinds and polishes to engineering specifications.
- Positions work piece manually by crane or forklift.
- Works from routing sheets and instructions.
- Removes sharp edges, burrs, pits and cracks using power grinders, sanders, needle-gun chipper.
- Uses bead blaster and sand blaster utilizing air supplied hood and clothing.
- Completes and scans work orders accurately for each job.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Functions in a workplace of dignity and respect for all.
- Functions as a team member and to get along with others.
- Honors EEO guidelines and principles.
- Reports for work on time as scheduled and ready to perform.
- Performs other similar or related duties as directed, assigned or as necessary to accomplish the department's objectives in an effective manner.
- Accountable for all concerns within their scope of work and has the absolute responsibility to remedy, report and/or communicate any issue to managers, supervisors, safety or environmental managers as appropriate.
- Follows all safe work practices, watches out for fellow workers, and keeps their work area clean.
- Ensures area remains compliant regarding hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and universal waste.

Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); a minimum of one month related experience. - Language

Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. - Mathematical

Ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic math skills. - Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Visual Scanning System. - Equipment: Grinders, sanders, overhead and jib cranes, forklifts, bead-blast cabinet, sand blast equipment and power and hand tools
