Job Description

KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School is looking for a lead teacher who is committed to uplifting student potential and creating a professional environment of joy, excellence, care, and community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a lead or co‑lead in classrooms, including co‑teaching, short‑ or long‑term coverage, or stepping into a lead classroom later in the year.
  • Ensure every child is affirmed, valued, and challenged daily.
  • Foster a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Prepare rigorous and engaging unit and daily lessons, leveraging provided curricula and intellectual preparation tools.
  • When applicable, create academically aligned lesson plans, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments.
  • Set specific, ambitious growth goals for all students and identify needed resources to meet them.
  • Innovate best practices for differentiated instruction at a level rigorous for all students.
  • Implement aligned school‑wide or grade‑level culture systems and proactive classroom management strategies.
  • Regularly analyze student work and academic data to refine lessons, curricula, and instruction.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date student grades/records and communicate regularly with students and families about growth.
School and Professional Responsibilities
  • Obtain required MTEL and SEI endorsements within the first year, with financial support from KIPP MA.
  • Participate in school‑wide and individual PD, including summer pre‑service and weekly in‑year training.
  • Develop craft by seeking and implementing feedback from coach and collaborating with teammates.
  • Perform assigned duties including classroom coverage, bus, lunch, transition, dismissal.
  • Develop strong relationships with families through events and consistent communication.
  • Collaborate with grade‑level and content teams to implement systems and support all students.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and communicate proactively about barriers.
General Requirements and Responsibilities
  • Act with integrity and lead with humanity per KIPP MA’s Code of Conduct.
  • Engage in regional PD and community events as required.
  • Demonstrate data collection, analysis, and decision‑making skills.
  • Show self‑awareness, flexibility, and emotional intelligence for diverse student needs.
  • Support behavioral and emotional needs with effective interpersonal skills.
  • Communicate effectively in person, written, verbal, and virtual.
  • Possess physical mobility and strength sufficient for classroom tasks.
  • Have manual dexterity sufficient for repetitive motions and digital operations.
Qualifications
  • Deep alignment with KIPP MA’s mission and values.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive student growth and create a warm, inclusive, rigorous learning environment.
  • Passion for Social Studies and commitment to professional learning.
  • At least 2+ years of full‑time teaching experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Pass a criminal background check.

Additional Information
  • Base salary $55,000 to $89,500 (per 1.0 FTE/45 hrs per week).
  • $1,000 signing bonus and $2,000 annual retention bonus.
  • School year calendar applies.
