Job OverviewAn Embedded System Senior Staff Engineer will be responsible for the electronic design, firmware design, manufacturing, testing, and support of a real‑time embedded system used to validate engine control system Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) for internal GE Aerospace and external customers. The FADEC Test System (FTS) is used for Software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) and Hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing in initial design and field support of engine control systems throughout the product life cycle.
Roles and Responsibilities- Execute laboratory and field validation testing, inspection, and data acquisition for design and validation of products and services.
- Create robust component, logic, and systems designs to ensure product safety, reliability, and operational capability.
- Integrate and balance customer and engine requirements and internal best practices to advance overall system functional architecture.
- Design electrical system architecture to meet power, sensing, computation, and actuation requirements within specified environments.
- Leverage specialized knowledge in electrical hardware design and aviation controls software to influence strategy and policy formulation.
- Interpret business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.
- Use high levels of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks across operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering domains.
- Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity, communicating complex concepts and influencing other stakeholders.
- Master’s degree in engineering or sciences from an ABET-accredited university or college.
- Minimum of 6 years of electronic design and test experience, spanning analog and digital circuitry, preferably including avionics and embedded interfaces in Aerospace or equivalent industry.
- US Government Security Clearance required; prerequisite is U.S. citizenship.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship.
Pay Range: $200,000 – $220,000 (base salary); annual discretionary bonus based on percentage of base salary.
