Position Title:

Speech Therapist / Speech-Language Pathologist (Early Education)

Hours:

FFS 5-10 hours per week. Mornings required.

About the Program:
As part of the CPPI initiative, this program expands access to high-quality preschool, promotes inclusion, and ensures equitable access to special education supports within early childhood settings.

Position Summary:

The Speech Therapist will provide assessment, intervention, consultation, and support services to preschool-aged children (3-5 years) within our preschool classrooms, ensuring timely, evidence-based services in inclusive settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct speech, language, and communication screenings and evaluations for preschool children.
  • Design and implement individualized intervention plans (individual, small group, classroom consultation).
  • Collaborate with teachers, early education staff, special educators, and families to support language development across the classroom environment.
  • Participate in IEP/IFSP meetings, progress monitoring, documentation, and reporting.
  • Provide professional development and coaching related to communication strategies, language-rich environments, AAC.
  • Assist in curriculum alignment to integrate evidence-based practices in language and literacy.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, service delivery records, and reporting requirements.
  • Support inclusive practices so children with communication needs are fully integrated in the preschool setting.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Massachusetts license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with preschool/early childhood populations, particularly in inclusive or community settings.
  • Strong knowledge of early language development, intervention strategies, AAC, and differentiation.
  • Excellent collaboration, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of early childhood curriculum, inclusion, special education law, and preschool best practices.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple sites or classrooms as needed.
