Job Overview

North Shore Medical Center, Inc., part of Mass General Brigham, is a not-for-profit organization focused on patient care, research, teaching, and community service. This part-time role (25 hours per week, daytime shift) supports patient registration and information collection.

Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the patient registration process, ensuring accurate and efficient collection of patient demographic and insurance information.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate and oversee the patient registration process, ensuring timely and accurate collection of patient information.
  • Verify insurance coverage for patients and ensure accurate and complete documentation of insurance information.
  • Coordinate patient admissions in collaboration with healthcare providers, nurses, and other relevant staff.
  • Provide financial counseling to patients, explaining insurance coverage, billing processes, and payment options.
  • Provide support to a team of registration staff, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations, including privacy laws.
Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent required;
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.

Experience:

3–5 years in healthcare registration or patient accounts. The role accepts experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Knowledge of healthcare registration processes, insurance verification, and billing procedures.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in gathering and documenting patient information.

  • Proficiency in using healthcare software systems, electronic health records, and registration software.
