Lynn Community Health Center (LCHC) is one of the largest community health centers in Massachusetts, providing comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable health care to more than 46,000 patients annually. LCHC is driven by its mission to deliver compassionate care, advance health equity, and strengthen our community through innovation and collaboration.
The Community Health Center Student Fellowship Program was envisioned in 2024 to recognize youth as change agents in driving community wellness. Launched in 2025 and funded by the Atrius Health Equity Foundation, the program aims to expose high‑school students to CHC clinical and operational roles, provide mentorship, career and life‑skills coaching, promote health advocacy and education, and foster lower hypertension rates through direct clinical engagement.
The program comprises up to 70 chat fellows representing zip codes with the highest barriers to care and lowest graduation rates.
The Student Fellowship Program Manager plays a key role in advancing LCHC’s workforce development and health equity strategy. The Program Manager provides immersive experiences for students pursuing careers in health care, with a focus on developing a diverse and community‑rooted pipeline of future professionals. The Program Manager oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the fellowship, ensuring a meaningful experience for students and measurable impact for LCHC that align with the organization’s core values of respect, accountability, teamwork, compassion, justice and excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Program Design, Leadership & Administration
- Lead all aspects of the Student Fellowship Program, including planning, operations, and evaluation.
- Recommend design changes to key components of the CHC fellowship program.
- Manage grant deliverables, budgets, and reporting requirements in alignment with the Atrius Health Equity Grant and other grants.
- Develop annual workplans and performance measures to track success and impact of collective and specific content and program elements.
- Coordinate with Clinical, Finance, and department leaders to ensure smooth program operations.
- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to recruit a diverse pool of fellows from targeted Lynn high schools.
- Manage application, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Design and deliver student orientation and workshops, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize the student fellow onboarding experience.
- Mentorship Administration
- Recruit mentors and coordinate mentorship pairings between CHC fellows and LCHC staff.
- Coordinate mentoring training and learning experiences that reflect LCHC’s mission and objectives of the fellowship.
- Collect and analyze feedback and program data to assess outcomes and guide continuous improvement.
- Prepare summary reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Partnerships & Communications
- Build and maintain partnerships with academic institutions and community organizations.
- Represent LCHC at community events, conferences, and funder engagement venues.
- Collaborate with Communications to highlight program achievements and share success stories.
- Maintain relationships and communications with student guardians as needed.
- Support sustainability planning and future funding opportunities.
- Program Evaluation
- Lead LCHC’s participation and compliance with funder evaluation requirements.
- Recommend program element specific evaluation criteria to enhance the student fellowship experience and optimize funding opportunities.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in program management, workforce development, educational initiatives, or community coordination – preferably in a community health or nonprofit setting.
- Experience managing grant‑funded projects and coordinating multi‑stakeholder programs.
- Prior experience in student engagement, mentoring, or leadership development preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
