• Support the hospital in maintaining a strong and positive commitment to quality patient care.
• Serve as a preceptor for new employees and educate staff as needed.
• Utilize supervision in a positive and thoughtful manner to enhance professional improvement and development.
• Attend clinical meetings that impact patient care.
• Maintain understanding of hospital policies and protocols and practices within those policies.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement studies with positive patient care outcomes.
• Maintain understanding of and follow regulatory agencies’ expectations and guidelines (e.g., DMH, DPH, JCAHO, payors).
• Record and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse.
• Monitor the patient milieu for safety issues and promote a positive therapeutic environment.
• Respond to patient care needs, assist with personal hygiene and activities of daily living, and collaborate with nurses on patient nursing needs.
• Assist in admitting, discharging, and transferring processes ensuring patient safety and properly handling patient valuables data.
• Participate in treatment team meetings, assist with care plan development, and report issues to the Registered Nurse.
• Maintain yearly/biyearly CPR and Aggression Management requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
