Overview
This role is based at GE Aerospace’s Lynn, MA (GET) site, a critical location supporting defense programs and advanced manufacturing. The Facility Security Officer partners closely with the Industrial Security Operations team, site leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a secure and compliant operating environment for employees, contractors, visitors, and suppliers.
Role Overview
The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for administering and overseeing the site’s government security program in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM). As the resident industrial security expert, you will develop, implement, and continuously improve security processes and procedures, serve as the primary interface with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), and ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements across programs and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of the
National Industrial Security Program (NISP)in compliance with 32 CFR Part 117, internal policies, and contractual requirements - Serve as the primary point of contact for
DCSA
reviews and correspondence; prepare for and participate in DCSA Security Reviews - Investigate National Security program-specific incidents impacting cleared personnel, accredited facilities, and/or information systems; drive corrective actions and report as required
- Develop, implement, and maintain security processes, procedures, and training to ensure a secure and compliant workplace for employees, contractors, visitors, and suppliers
- Maintain and oversee secure areas in accordance with
ICD 705
standards, partnering with facilities, IT, and program teams - Utilize and maintain government systems, including
NISS, DISS, and NBIS
, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant records and transactions - Build strong external partnerships and internal stakeholder relationships to incorporate best practices and influence emerging policy
- Provide guidance on Personnel Security, Information Assurance, and
COMSEC
, ensuring alignment to regulatory and customer expectations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college; OR associate degree with 4 years of military experience; OR high school diploma/GED with 8 years of military experience
- Minimum 5 years of Industrial Security experience, preferably as a Facility Security Officer
- Working knowledge of
32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM Rule) - Hands-on experience developing and maintaining secure areas in accordance with
ICD 705
standards - Working knowledge of
NISS, DISS, NBIS
, and other government applications - Familiarity with Personnel Security, Information Assurance, and
COMSEC - Must possess an active
Top Secret
security clearance
