The Lynn Water & Sewer Commission is seeking individuals with prior construction and labor experience, capable of operating heavy equipment and tools, including but not limited to jackhammers, pry bars, pumping generators, and shovels. A strong candidate must be able to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure in all weather conditions as a team member, with a general knowledge of job site procedures.
A valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator’s License is required, with CDL General Knowledge, Air Brake, and Tanker Endorsements.
Positions available include:
- Sewer Construction Worker:
Performs heavy labor tasks related to the construction and maintenance of sewers, drains, and related projects. - Water System Craftsman:
Handles heavy labor tasks for the installation, repair, and maintenance of the water system.
Under supervision, perform skilled repairs and maintenance on motor vehicles and stationary equipment. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair or overhaul gasoline and diesel engines, electrical systems, and components of drive lines, steering, suspension, and braking systems, including hydraulic, air, and vacuum systems. Conduct engine tune-ups, lubrication, and safety equipment maintenance. Perform preventive maintenance, rough bodywork, painting, brazing, welding, and other related duties such as fueling, fluid checks, tire changes, road service, and equipment cleaning.
