Washington State Assistance at DSHS Community Services Office in Alderwood/Lynnwood
Assists recipients of DSHS public assistance in obtaining a Washington State at a reduced cost from the Department of Licensing.
To apply, DSHS public assistance clients need to complete a "Request for Identicard form" provided by DSHS. They must then take this form to DOL, along with the required evidence of identity and a $5 fee, to apply for the .
The $5 fee covers the production of the card. Regular costs are $54 for a first-time or renewal, $20 for a replacement, or $10 for an address change.
Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Application eligibility interviews are conducted from 8 am to 2 pm.
Anyone receiving DSHS public assistance, including financial and food assistance, is eligible. Individuals under age 25 without a permanent residence address can attest to their eligibility at the driver licensing office at the time of , without needing a DSHS letter.
