Job DescriptionThis role focuses on managing the claims process from beginning to end, working closely with clients, insurance carriers, adjusters, claimants, and underwriting staff. Claim Advocates apply company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks and maintain high standards of service.
Job SummaryClaim Advocates handle the claim process from start to finish, working closely with the client, insurance carrier, adjuster, claimants, and underwriting colleagues. They apply company policies and procedures, maintain knowledge of industry practices, and work to deliver timely resolutions.
Responsibilities- Assist agency clients in reporting and monitoring commercial & personal lines claims, including taking initial loss notices, sending loss notices to insurers, communicating with insured on adjuster assignments, tracking claim payments, and following the claim until closed.
- Conduct initial reviews of claims for coverage questions, review denials for accuracy, and act as liaison between insured and adjuster.
- Serve as contact for adjuster and insured for claim‑related issues.
- Refer complex coverage questions to Risk Manager.
- Secure loss runs from carriers and prepare claims information for presentations.
- Resolve customer claim issues in coordination with Account Executives and Producers to reduce E&O exposure.
- Provide claims packets to customers and prospects.
- Read policy forms, understand coverage, and question carriers when necessary.
- Evaluate and challenge claim reserves in accordance with industry knowledge.
- Cooperate with counsel for suits or trial.
- Active Property & Casualty license or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills across all levels.
- Ability to work independently and achieve high‑level products within time constraints.
- Team player to achieve goals.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Applied EPIC experience a plus.
- High School Diploma;
Associate degree or higher preferred. - 3+ years of claim experience; industry experience preferred.
The base compensation range for this position is $23,000 - $28,000. Placement within the range is based on skills, experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
Preferred On‑Site PresenceCandidates should be comfortable with an on‑site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross‑functional partnership.
