What You'll Experience

You’ll collaborate with leaders, nurses, physicians, and frontline staff across every department. No two days look the same—one day you may be reviewing patient safety events or chart audits, and the next you're leading a root cause analysis, preparing for a regulatory survey, or helping develop a new process improvement plan. Your work directly influences outcomes like infection prevention, readmission rates, and patient satisfaction.

You’ll often serve as a bridge between departments—translating data into action, identifying improvement opportunities, and helping staff understand why quality metrics matter.

How You’ll Contribute
  • Develops and implements policies governing control of infections and communicable diseases.
  • Develops systems for identifying, reporting, investigating, and controlling infections and communicable diseases.
  • Assists Employee Health Nurse and other staff as time/workload permits.
  • Provides concurrent surveillance of infection control activities.
  • Develops and implements appropriate infection control measures throughout the hospital.
  • Provides assistance to/collaboration with the Employee Health Nurse as needed.
  • Maintains a log of incidents related to infections and communicable diseases.
  • Monitors infections in the hospital and evaluates as to hospital acquired infection.

Pay range - $115K - $120K per year

What We’re Looking For
  • Requires current RN license with BSN preferred.
  • Acquires Infection Control Certification within 3 years of employment.
  • Minimum of five years clinical experience in a hospital setting or disease surveillance experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Computer skills and basic statistical knowledge are required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
