We are seeking a compassionate and community-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to support an early learning and child development program serving infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children. In this role, you will act as the primary health and safety consultant across the center, guiding staff, consulting on chronic care plans, and ensuring compliance with early childhood state health standards in a structured, non-acute educational setting.
- Pay Rate: $45.00 / hour
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM (30 hours/week — Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week!)
- Work Setting: On-site (Lynnwood Area)
- Contract Duration: Long-term contract through end of year, with strong potential for extension into next year based on budget renewal.
- Environment: Brand-new community center setting supporting up to 74 children; day shift, no nights, no on-call, and no weekends.
- Health & Safety Consultation:
- Review, develop, and recommend site health policies that promote wellness and minimize the spread of communicable illness.
- Oversee medication administration protocols, individual healthcare plans (IHPs), dietary accommodations, and specialized care needs.
- Audit health-related records and child files to maintain strict adherence to state licensing, Early Head Start, and ECEAP health standards.
- Pediatric Health & Development:
- Track and monitor immunization compliance, well-child exams, and dental screening records.
- Assist or conduct standard health screenings (vision, hearing, height, and weight) for enrolled students.
- Provide recommendations to support children with developmental delays or chronic conditions, minimizing barriers to care and learning.
- Staff Training &
Education: - Deliver practical health, sanitation, and safety training to educational staff, leaders, and families.
- Serve as the on-site clinical subject matter expert for common childhood illnesses, injury prevention, and emergency response procedures.
- Family & Community Outreach:
- Help families establish medical/dental homes and coordinate referrals with local healthcare and behavioral health providers.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Washington.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with preferred experience in Pediatrics, School Nursing, Community/Public Health, or Early Childhood settings.
- Knowledge Base: Firm grasp of pediatric growth and development, communicable disease prevention, immunization schedules, and childhood health standards.
- Core Competencies: Confident decision-maker during rare acute emergencies, strong communicator, and a collaborative mindset when partnering with non-clinical educators and families.
