The Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle (VSCS) is a 24‑hour Emergency and Critical Care and Specialty hospital. We support Emergency & Critical Care, Neurology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, and Radiology—all in one hospital. We pride ourselves on compassionate care and exceptional client service. Our team ranges from assistants to licensed veterinarian technicians and board‑certified doctors. RoleResponsibilities
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state’s Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
- Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
- Previous veterinary assistant experience required.
- Desire to offer superior patient care.
- Positive work attitude helping clients feel at ease.
- Proficiency in blood draws, taking histories, basic vital skills, and knowledge.
- Preferred – specialty surgery experience.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $23–$28 per hour. The actual rate will consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
