Overview
THE BILINGUAL/BILITERATE STIPEND EXAM IS RESTRICTED ONLY FOR CSEA/CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEES OF THE LYNWOOD UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT. (PERMANENT OR PROBATIONARY) EMPLOYEES OF THE LYNWOOD UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT.
APPLICATIONS ACCEPTED (ONLINE ONLY) FROM AUGUST 5, 2024 - CONTINUOUS. RECRUITMENTS THAT NOTE “Continuous” ARE SUBJECT TO CLOSE AT ANY TIME. THE PERSONNEL COMMISSION RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THIS RECRUITMENT AT ANY POINT IN TIME.
ANTICIPATED SELECTION PROCESS (SUBJECT TO CHANGE):
- WRITTEN EXAMINATION - ENGLISH/BILINGUAL-SPANISH: The written examination portion may have multiple steps administered on different days (50% of total score).
- ORAL EXAMINATION - ENGLISH/BILINGUAL-SPANISH: The oral examination portion may have multiple steps administered on different days (50% of total score).
PARTICIPATION IN ALL PORTIONS OF THE EXAMINATION PROCESS IS BY OFFICIAL INVITATION ONLY. Candidates who do not participate and pass all parts will not be considered for the stipend.
ELIGIBILITY:
The candidate must provide information demonstrating possession of initial qualifications. Failure to provide required information or to complete the application properly will terminate the application/candidacy.
- Current eligible Lynwood USD employee (see Eligible Classifications listed below).
- Employee must be fluent and bilingual/biliterate in two languages:
English and Spanish. - Employee must pass the District's Competency Test (Written & Oral Examinations).
- Employees in a position designated as "Bilingual" shall no longer be eligible for the Bilingual Stipend.
The Bilingual/Biliterate Stipend is designated ONLY to the eligible classifications listed below. If your classification is not listed, you will not be eligible to receive the bilingual stipend.

Step 2 – Examination (Anticipated)- Written Examination - ENGLISH/BILINGUAL-SPANISH (may have multiple steps).
- Oral Examination - ENGLISH/BILINGUAL-SPANISH (may have multiple steps; depending on number of eligible candidates, may be conducted as a written/oral exam).
The tentative examination process may include: application screening, initial qualifications screening, supplemental training and experience screening, documentation/certification screening, written ENGLISH/BILINGUAL-SPANISH examination, performance examination and/or oral ENGLISH/BILINGUAL-SPANISH examination.
Candidates will be notified of test dates/times by email or mail. It is the candidate’s responsibility to provide correct contact information. Failure to provide correct information or to participate in any portion may result in termination from the process.
