Lead Mechanic – Filling

Piper Companies is seeking a Lead Mechanic to join a leading pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturing organization in Lynwood, CA. His role is critical to ensuring efficient operation of bottle packaging machinery and maintaining compliance with cGMP and safety standards.

• Lead and coordinate daily maintenance and production activities to ensure smooth line operations.
• Provide technical guidance and hands‑on support to filling mechanics.
• Ensure team compliance with cGMP, safety, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with production supervisors, engineers, and quality personnel to improve equipment efficiency and reliability.
• Perform daily set‑ups, adjustments, and maintenance of bottle packaging machinery.
• Execute quality changeovers, repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Install and set up new vision systems as required.
• Troubleshoot PLCs and machine circuit boards.
• Assist in IQ/OQ/PQ for new machines and tooling.
• Maintain accurate line set‑up sheets and documentation.
• Support management in planning maintenance schedules and prioritizing tasks.

• 2+ years of experience in maintenance or packaging operations.
• Mechanical Engineering degree a plus.
• Knowledge of cGMP and safety guidelines.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to guide and support a team.
• Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop team members to achieve operational goals.

• $40-$45/hr
• First Shift: 5AM-1:30PM with flexibility
