The Lactation Consultant will provide skilled lactation care and instruction to breastfeeding mothers and infants throughout the facility, including inpatient and outpatient settings. They promote breastfeeding and facilitate change using evidence‑based care management. They contact physician offices, patients, and other departments to facilitate patient care, order and restock breastfeeding/pump supplies, enter information into the electronic medical record, manage CMQCC data, provide education for nursing staff, and help facilitate educational classes for patients.
Qualifications- IBCLC required within 6 months of hire.
- RN license required.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- NRP (AAP) within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- One to two years of previous experience preferred.
- Experience using computers for data management and entry.
- EPIC experience preferred.
St. Francis Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, a 401K retirement plan, medical, dental, vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and many voluntary benefit options. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other compensation, is $49.43 to $63.70 per hour. The exact starting compensation will depend on skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
