Key responsibilities:
  • Managing debtors through professional telephone and email communication.
  • Maintaining positive client relationships throughout the credit control process.
  • Uploading and processing invoices using Quick Books.
  • Reconciling invoices and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Using Enable, our rebate management software, to maintain accurate and consistent financial data.
  • Maintaining complete and up-to-date financial records.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Preparing clear and accurate financial reports for the Directors.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance and Data with day-to-day finance activities.
We are looking for someone who is:
  • Confident working with numbers and financial information.
  • Accurate, organised and attentive to detail.
  • Comfortable following established processes and meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive when resolving queries and investigating discrepancies.
  • Confident communicating by telephone and email.
  • Able to build positive relationships with customers, suppliers and colleagues.
  • Practical, reliable and comfortable managing routine transactional work.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Committed to handling sensitive financial information with discretion.
Skills and experience:

The following skills and experience would be beneficial:

  • Previous experience in a finance, accounts, bookkeeping or credit control role.
  • Experience managing debtors and customer accounts.
  • Experience using Quick Books or similar accounting software.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
  • Experience processing and reconciling invoices.
  • Good numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English at grade 4/C or above.
  • A relevant bookkeeping or accounting qualification, such as AAT, would be advantageous but is not essential.
Salary and benefits:

If you have the skills we need for this position, we can offer you a competitive salary and benefits package, including:

  • A monthly mobile phone allowance.
  • Cycle to Work and Tech schemes.
  • 25 days paid annual leave, rising to 28 days with service, plus bank holidays and your birthday off.
  • One paid volunteering day each year to support a charity or community initiative of your choice.
  • Flexible working, depending on business needs.
  • Coaching and training to support your career development.
