Where will you be working?

This role is based in the BES Macclesfield office. BES works with world-leading organisations in the pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences and healthcare sectors as well as hi-tech industries to create cutting-edge clean rooms, laboratories and other sophisticated facilities for the discovery, development and manufacturing of life changing medicines and technologies. What

will you be doing?

You'll lead commercial management across an NEC4 Framework & Global projects platform, ensuring strong financial performance, cash flow, and risk control.

We'll need you to take ownership of projects from pre-contract through to final account and provide robust project controls oversight, including cost forecasting, change management, and performance reporting

You'll work closely with project delivery teams to drive commercial strategy and informed decision-making along with leading and supporting commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.

You'll contribute to bidding, estimating, and risk reviews, ensuring commercial robustness at tender stage and support the development of commercial best practice, governance, and consistent ways of working.

You'll play a key role in building and mentoring a high-performing commercial team as the function grows

We'll need you to develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted commercial advisor.

What you’ll bring
  • Do you have strong experience in commercial management within a highly regulated industry?
  • Have you got a demonstrable track record working with high volume packages and project works?
  • Do you have a solid understanding of project controls, cost management, and commercial reporting?
  • Have you got proven experience operating at Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Manager level?
  • Are you someone who has the ability to work autonomously while also contributing to team leadership and development?
  • Are you a confident communicator, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels?
  • Do you have a strong working knowledge of contracts and commercial frameworks?
  • Have you gained a relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g. Quantity Surveying or similar)?
  • Do you have a chartered status? This is desirable but not essential.
