KS2 SEN Teacher

Salary: £27,456 - £43,014 (Paid to Scale up to M6)Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per weekSetting: SEN School/ Stockport

Reed Education are working with a specialist SEN school that provides a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment for pupils with complex needs, trauma backgrounds and challenging behaviours. The school is committed to helping young people rebuild confidence, overcome barriers and reach their full potential, regardless of gender, disability or background.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate KS2 SEN Teacher who is ready to transform lives through inclusive, personalised and trauma-informed teaching.

The Role

You will deliver high-quality, engaging and adaptive learning experiences for pupils with a range of SEND needs. Your teaching will focus on emotional wellbeing, academic progress, social development and resilience, supported by a dedicated team of teaching assistants and specialist staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, evidence-based lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Use assessment data to track progress and adapt teaching strategies.
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional and academic development using therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, consistency and positive relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and specialist staff to deliver holistic support.

Requirements

  • Experience teaching pupils with complex needs and challenging behaviour.
  • Strong understanding of SEND curriculum, assessment and behaviour management.
  • QTS/QTLS required.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, professional conduct and continuous development.
  • Ability to plan, deliver and evaluate effective teaching and learning.
  • Resilience, empathy, adaptability and genuine passion for working with vulnerable pupils.
