Civil Enforcement Officer

Join Cheshire East Council’s Parking Services team and play a vital role in keeping our roads safe, accessible and moving. We are looking for motivated and community‑focused individuals to join us as Civil Enforcement Officers, working in a visible frontline role that supports residents, businesses and visitors across the borough.

The successful candidate will be calm, approachable and resilient, with the ability to deliver a high standard of customer care at all times. They will be capable of remaining professional and composed in challenging or confrontational situations. A good standard of education is required, along with excellent attention to detail and an understanding of relevant parking and traffic regulations.

As a Civil Enforcement Officer, you will work across Cheshire East’s highway network to help ensure parking and traffic regulations are followed, keeping roads safe, accessible and moving. The role is mainly outdoors and includes on‑street and off‑street patrols across the highway and council‑operated car parks. You will educate motorists on safe, considerate and legal parking, particularly around schools, support traffic flow, open and close pedestrianised areas and car parks, and issue Penalty Charge Notices where required.

Mobile technology and body‑worn equipment will be used to record information accurately and support a professional, visible frontline service.

• Patrol highways and council‑operated car parks to enforce parking and traffic regulations.
