What you’ll be doing- As an Assistant Management Accounts Manager
, you’ll support the management accounts team by preparing accurate financial information to aid business decision-making. You’ll assist in producing management reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, helping to drive financial performance and control. - Manage a portfolio of 100 site accounts, producing a P&L statement for each and ensuring all contract terms are accurately reflected.
- Process accruals and prepayments at month-end, ensuring site balance sheets are accurate, fully reconciled, and compliant.
- Perform account analysis and prepare variance commentary comparing actual results to budget.
- Conduct periodic contract reviews, ensuring terms are aligned with accounting records.
- Ensure client invoicing is accurate and consistent with P&L data.
- Liaise with stakeholders to understand performance, review processes, and deliver training where necessary.
- Provide financial support and guidance to the business as required.
- Monitor and review site bookkeeping systems, identifying and correcting errors.
- Analyze cost structures, control expenses, and optimize resource use.
- Identify risks, ensure internal controls, and maintain regulatory compliance.
Working pattern:
Monday - Friday
- AAT qualified or qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.
- Solid understanding of VAT and accounting principles.
- Proficient in accounting concepts with strong IT skills, including advanced Excel capabilities.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Passionate about service; warm, approachable, and skilled in interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across diverse teams.
- Proactive and innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with resilience in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in people management or mentoring, fostering team development and collaboration.
