Avantor is looking for a Delivery Technologist to join our team at our customer's site in Macclesfield. This is a key operational role within the Derwent Warehouse, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient transfer of inbound and outbound materials in a GMP-regulated environment.

Responsibilities
  • Daily use of Inventory Management systems:
    Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and ensure data integrity for all stakeholders.
  • Documentation management:
    Review, update, and maintain key documents in line with current practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Customer service:
    Engage proactively with customers, understand their operational needs, and respond promptly to requests.
  • Health & Safety compliance:
    Follow all H&S regulations and promote a culture of safety across Avantor teams.
  • Process improvement:
    Identify and raise opportunities for operational enhancements and collaborate on implementation.
  • 'One Team' approach:
    Provide support and cover for colleagues as needed, contributing to a collaborative environment.
  • Deviation investigations:
    Participate in investigations, contribute to root‑cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
  • GMP & GDP compliance:
    Work in accordance with GMP and GDP (ALCOA+) guidelines, ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
  • Dangerous goods shipping:
    Coordinate safe, compliant shipment of dangerous goods in line with IATA and ADR requirements.
  • Quality Management Systems:
    Access, update, and maintain procedures and documentation through QMS platforms.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Materials management:
    Accurately receive, locate, and store materials in line with standard procedures and Inventory Management requirements.
  • API sampling & dispensing:
    Conduct sampling and dispensing of API in adherence to customer requirements and SHE guidelines.
  • Global request processing:
    Manage global requests from our client's scientists and collaborators, ensuring full GMP compliance, documentation accuracy, and product integrity. This position operates within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facility and requires strong attention to detail, quality focus, and a commitment to compliance in all aspects of pharmaceutical operations.
Required
  • Understanding of customer service principles, SLAs, and KPIs
  • Ability to follow SOPs and comply with GMP standards
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety principles
  • Experience using QMS tools and document‑control processes
Desirable
  • IATA, ADR, IMDG training (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience in a regulated environment, ideally pharmaceutical (training provided)
  • Familiarity with warehouse or laboratory environments
  • Understanding of GDP documentation standards and ALCOA+ principles
