Community Mental Health Nurse – Clinic

Do you want to work in a friendly, professional and patient‑focused Community Mental Health Team where your skills, knowledge and experience would be valued?

We are looking for a Band 5 mental health nurse to join our team. The successful applicant will work predominantly within the wellbeing clinic, administering and monitoring the effectiveness of medications for patients with complex mental health conditions. You will act as an autonomous practitioner, managing an individual caseload of patients in both the clinic and community settings.

The position is full‑time at 37.5 hours per week and is based at the service’s operating hours of 9 am – 5 pm, Monday to Friday. You will join a well‑established, experienced and supportive multi‑disciplinary team that continually adapts to evolving mental health care practices. The role involves active engagement in service development and a focus on personal growth.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work autonomously within a multi‑disciplinary framework to administer and monitor specialist medications as part of the wellbeing clinic.

  • Administer and monitor medications.
  • Contribute to the effective running of the clinic, including ordering medications, checking stock, conducting physical health checks and maintaining clinic machinery.
  • Maintain excellent communication, write clinic notes and perform assessments.
  • Apply sound knowledge of mental health disorders and the Mental Health Act.
  • Participate in a thorough induction, supervision and mandatory training, with further development available.
  • Provide transportation for work‑related community visits to patients’ homes and external clinics.
