Job ResponsibilitiesThe incoming Residential Conveyancer will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of residential property matters from instruction through to completion, supported by a dedicated Conveyancing Assistant.
The day-to-day job duties within this Residential Conveyancer job include:
- Handling a broad range of residential conveyancing transactions including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, shared ownership, new builds, transfers of equity, adverse possession, transfers of part and remortgages.
- Managing files independently through all stages, including post-completion formalities.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other third parties to ensure matters progress efficiently.
- Managing work in progress (WIP), billing and cash collection in line with firm procedures.
- Maintaining compliant and organised files using the case management system (ideally P4W).
- Participating in team meetings and supporting business development activities, including maintaining referrer relationships.
The successful Residential Conveyancer will have previous experience managing their own residential conveyancing caseload within a UK law firm. In addition, you will possess the following experience, skills and attributes:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience handling residential property transactions independently.
- A strong understanding of the residential conveyancing process from instruction through to completion.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Confident communication skills when liaising with clients and third parties.
- Experience using case management systems, ideally P4W.
