Role Description

The Purchasing Planning Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Macclesfield, leading a team and responsible for overseeing procurement and production planning activities to support efficient manufacturing operations. Day-to-day tasks include managing material purchasing, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective sourcing.

The role involves developing and monitoring production plans, aligning supply with demand forecasts, and collaborating with manufacturing, logistics, and finance teams to support continuous improvement in the supply chain. The Purchasing Planning Manager will analyse data and performance metrics, address variances, and implement processes that reduce waste, improve lead times, and support Door Co’s growth and innovation goals.

Qualifications
  • Strong expertise in Production Planning and Supply Chain Management to coordinate materials, capacity, and demand.
  • Experience in Procurement and Inventory Management to ensure reliable supply, cost control, and stock optimisation.
  • Solid Analytical Skills to interpret data, forecast requirements, identify trends, and drive process improvements.
  • Proficiency with Excel or similar tools for planning, reporting, and performance tracking.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations, finance, and suppliers.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
