About the role

We are recruiting Band 5 nurses for a 15‑bed specialist Dementia inpatient service. The post offers a range of career opportunities and is located in the heart of Cheshire with good transport to Manchester and the Peak District.

All wards offer a 24‑hour service; therefore the successful candidate must be flexible and able to work a rotational shift pattern that includes a range of 12‑hour shifts across days, nights and weekends.

You will demonstrate enthusiasm for mental health nursing and caring for individuals with a Dementia diagnosis, and a desire for ongoing professional development. You will receive excellent training and opportunities for development, clinical supervision and appraisal. A comprehensive preceptorship programme is available for newly qualified nurses.

Job responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to patients with dementia and other mental health conditions, support recovery, facilitate treatment plans, manage medication, uphold health and safety, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Person Specification Experience
  • 1st‑level mental health trained nurse, with up‑to‑date knowledge of current mental health legislation.
  • Experience working with adults with a learning disability.
  • Experience carrying out clinical supervision.
Knowledge and Expertise
  • Excellent communicator verbally and in written work.
  • Well‑developed, research‑based nursing skills.
  • Basic management knowledge, as the post may involve taking charge of the service occasionally.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Positive approach towards use of information technology.
Qualifications
  • RMN / RNLD.
