Catering Assistant – PAN TRADE, Macclesfield

Job Summary:

To undertake catering duties to a high standard of cleanliness and safe practices in the distribution centre/kitchen and associated areas, assist with basic food preparation, comply with hygiene and HACCP policies, manage deliveries and stock, pick and pack patient food orders daily. Part‑time, 30 hours per week, with a 2‑week working pattern (Week 1 Mon, Tue, Thurs, Fri; Week 2 Mon, Wed, Sat, Sun).

Shifts 07:00‑15:00.

• Picking and packing of the food transport boxes.
• Ensure all temperature monitoring systems are up to date and recorded.
• Ordering and receiving of stock – quality control of all products.
• Reporting damaged or ineffective machinery in a timely manner.
• Training to (or completing) an intermediate food hygiene level.
• Stock takes and management of supplier systems.
• Handling customer complaints or issues and resolving them promptly.
• Reporting to the Catering Manager.

• Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate.
• Working knowledge of HACCP.
• Prioritisation skills.
• Previous catering experience.
• Previous NHS experience in catering or domestic (desirable).>

• Basic IT skills (e.g., email).
• NVQ Level 2.
