Shift Pilot Plant Chemist (Eurofins Food & Water Testing UK & IE)

Job Overview

This full‑time, permanent position involves working 12‑hour shifts (days 07:00–19:00, nights 19:00–07:00) on a 3‑week rotational pattern:

  • Week 1:
    Days, Days, Nights, Nights, REST.
  • Week 2: REST, REST, Days, Days, Days.
  • Week 3:
    Nights, Nights, REST, REST, REST.

We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and innovative Pilot Plant Chemist in Drug Substance Manufacturing.

Responsibilities
  • Operate a modern Pilot Plant facility.
  • Follow detailed GMP batch instructions for tasks such as solids and liquids charging, reaction monitoring, work‑ups, crystallisations, and waste management.
  • Perform GMP in‑process analysis using techniques such as HPLC, KF, GC, and UPLC to monitor reaction progress.
  • Learn new processes to operate safely and compliantly in the client's facility.
Qualifications
  • Degree, MSc, MChem or equivalent in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, with significant organic chemistry modules if not a straight chemistry degree.
  • Sound knowledge of chemistry and analytical science.
  • Previous Pilot Plant knowledge and experience within a pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing facility is highly desirable.
  • Engineering skills desirable.
  • Experience with HPLC, GC, Karl Fisher and UPLC in a GMP environment essential.
  • Knowledge of drug substance analysis an advantage.
  • Understanding of the drug development process desirable.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot instrumentation and analysis issues.
  • Proven ability to investigate OOS results and support pilot plant investigations.
