Residential Maintenance Assistant – Equans UK & Ireland

The Residential Maintenance Assistant works on behalf of the Alderley Park contract in Macclesfield. This permanent full‑time role (37.5 hours per week) offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

This role involves delivering a range of maintenance tasks on contracted customer sites, including Legionella related work, water system checks, pipe repairs, plantroom cleaning and participation in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota.

• Legionella required tasks: weekly flushing, monthly temperature testing, shower disinfections, hot‑water system checks, CWST inspections and testing, tank turnover recording, testing and maintenance of TMVs.
• Proactive improvements to customers’ water systems.
• Small repairs to pipework.
• Reactive requests for repairs.
• Plantroom cleaning and inspections.
• Joining an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota.
• Contractor escorting duties.

The successful candidate will build ongoing relationships with all customers, looking after site needs and driving improvements where applicable. The Engineer reports to the Manager and the Account Manager. Work is based Monday to Friday at Alderley Park, with possible site visits elsewhere and shift work, including late and early hours as required. Candidates must have legionella awareness qualifications and experience in maintaining and repairing pipework and building plumbing systems.

The role requires walking in excess of 10,000 steps per day.

• City & Guilds / BTec / ACOP L8, LCA
• NVQ plumbing qualifications
• Experience in legionella awareness and tasks
• Experience working with computers, tablets, phones and CAFM systems
• Experience with heating, ventilation and air‑conditioning plant
• Unvented hot water systems qualification
• Ability to learn quickly and approach problems in a logical, measured manner
• Excellent communication skills to explain technical details to non‑technical clients
