Join our dedicated team as an Intensive Support Worker within the Edge of Care Children's Services. This vital role supports young people and their families who are at risk of family breakdown, ensuring they can safely remain in their homes. We are looking for a compassionate, creative, and resilient professional to make a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable young people.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work in partnership with young people's Social Workers to deliver direct interventions tailored to the needs of young people at risk of family breakdown.
- Establish, maintain, and develop professional relationships with young people through targeted interventions, promoting their engagement and participation in decision-making processes.
- Provide support to young people at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation, Criminal Exploitation, Missing and NEET statuses, addressing their multiple and complex needs.
- Deliver targeted interventions, assess needs, and implement focused plans of support across various settings including home, school, and community.
- Operate within core hours of 10:30 AM to 7 PM with flexibility required between 8 AM to 10 PM, including potential sleep-in shifts. The role includes weekend work as part of a rota system tailored to the needs of the children and families.
RequiredSkills & Qualifications:
- Relevant experience working with young people, particularly in contexts of vulnerability such as Child Sexual Exploitation or Criminal Exploitation.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices.
- Excellent self-organisation skills and the ability to work flexibly as part of a multi-agency team.
- Creative and persistent approach to engaging with young people and their families.
- Experience in delivering therapeutic interventions and parenting support is highly desirable.
