Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Salary Range

$16.00/hr - $18.00/hr

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on the assigned cash register and provide customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Register customer purchases, collect cash, distribute change, and process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed.
• Recommend items for sale, trade‑ups, and/or companion items to customers.
• Keep counters, shelves, and displays clean and well merchandised; take inventory and maintain records.
• Check in, price, and manage merchandise and inventory as directed by store managers or shift leaders.
• Assist pharmacists in registering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, counting, pouring, and verifying medications while adhering to state and federal regulations.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the on‑duty pharmacist and comply with pharmacy policies and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including calls to physicians.
• Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third‑party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
• Support the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco products.
• Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise, and complete resets and revisions as directed.
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies (e.g., raw meats on bottom shelves) and rotate consumable items using the first‑in, first‑out method.
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print, and creative machine, and suggestively sell promotional photo products.
• Assume web pick‑up responsibilities, monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, pick items, and deliver orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring a clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
