Position Overview

City of Macedonia – Patrol Officer

Location:

Macedonia, OH The Patrol Officer shall serve on a full‑time basis, protecting the safety and security of the community. Salary: $33.37 to $38.91 per hour (2024); $1.50 night‑shift differential. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life coverage, holiday and sick time.

• Age 21 or older
• U.S. citizen
• High school graduate or GED
• Valid state driver's license
• Ability to read and speak English

• Ten (10) points for a minimum of two years of continuous full‑time police officer experience with separation within the last year.
• Five (5) points for current peace officer certification or academy enrollment.
• Five (5) points for an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice.
• Five (5) points for prior military service (requires DD‑214 with honorable discharge).

• Physical Agility Test – must pass; certificates from Tri‑C or OPOTC accepted within the last 12 months.
• Frontline National exam – minimum score of 70% required. Submit scores by the deadline.
• Psychological, polygraph, EKG, drug screening, background check, and a personal interview.
• Non‑smoker required during and throughout employment.

Full‑time.
