Overview
Parts Specialist-3 role at O'Reilly Auto Parts. Compensation: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Premiums may apply in specific circumstances, including schedule, facility, season, or work performed. Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
Essential Job Functions- Follow and promote company customer service programs (Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call, Related Selling, Rock the Lot, etc.).
- Greet retail/walk-in customers in a friendly, courteous manner and assist them in selecting merchandise.
- Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers as needed and directed.
- Complete assigned company training relevant to the position.
- Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by phone: look up parts, quote prices, recommend premium and related items, and offer the Low-Price Guarantee following company policy.
- Maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept cash and/or checks, make change, and process credit card transactions.
- Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner.
- Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receipt, stocking shelves, fronting, facing, cleaning, etc.
- Perform daily operational tasks such as preparing returns to be shipped to the distribution center, assisting with monthly stock adjustments, and inventory cycle counts.
- Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training and company requirements are met.
- Perform in-store services for customers (where state and local laws allow): install wipers, test and charge batteries, test charging system, scan vehicle trouble codes, replace headlight capsules, etc.
- Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate and driving eligibility requirements are met.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Required:
ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences; ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service; multitasking (handling customers in-store and on the phone). - Desired: familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service; ASE certification; fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
