All About On-Demand

As an On-Demand Team Member (TM), you have the flexibility to pick up shifts that fit your schedule via the myTime mobile app. You are expected to be reliable, respond quickly to shift requests, and work at least one shift a month and at least once every 5 months to maintain employment. On‑Demand TMs are not posted on the weekly schedule and must meet mandatory attendance and engagement requirements.

Guest Advocates welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on interaction, loyalty enrollment, and store cleanliness. They promote both in‑store and digital services, ensuring a rapid and quality experience for all guests.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard.
  • Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
  • Engage with guests who need assistance to solve their specific needs.
  • Be knowledgeable about available tools, products, and services across the store.
  • Thank guests and express appreciation for choosing Target.
  • Scan and bag items efficiently and accurately, following food safety and company best practices.
  • Work to minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy.
  • Inform guests of current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events.
  • Promote Target Loyalty programs, assist with application or sign‑up, and guide enrollment in fulfillment services.
  • Explain and demonstrate features of the Target App and Wallet to guests.
  • Handle returns, follow register prompts, and partner with leaders to resolve guest concerns.
  • De‑escalate situations and recover the guest shopping experience in accordance with policies.
  • Deliver accurate service to Order Pick‑Up, Drive‑Up, and Registry guests.
  • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free work area, including handling abandoned items and baskets.
  • Stock supplies during open hours while remaining available for guests.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance, and report hazards.
  • Support retail operations, including OPU, DU Orders and Returns, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Support Cash Office processes and manage cash systems as needed.
  • Perform any other duties required by business needs.

  • Accurately handle cash register operations and support cash office functions.
  • Safely scan, handle, and move merchandise, lifting up to 10 lbs routinely and up to 44 lbs occasionally.
  • Be flexible in picking up shifts on nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Engage consistently with shift pickups and respond to contact attempts; otherwise, employment may be terminated.
  • Work in varied temperatures, humidity, and conditions (e.g., Drive‑Up, carry‑out).
  • Remain mobile throughout the scheduled shift.
