Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification for a diverse rehab services setting using Cerner EMR.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital-based acute rehab services department
- Care settings include inpatient, swing-bed, assisted living, and outpatient
- Patient caseload is highly variable based on census and scheduling
- Common cases include general medical, CVA, hip fractures, post-op THR/TKR, orthopedic injuries, developmental delay, and sensory issues
- Pediatric patients are seen in the outpatient setting
- Expected case mix: 40% acute, 40% outpatient, 10% assisted living, 10% swing bed (all variable)
- 8-hour day shifts with flexible scheduling options including 4x10 or 5x8 shifts
- No weekend or holiday coverage currently required
- Cerner Millennium is used for documentation
- Role involves providing evaluation and treatment across all patient areas as a generalist
- Support from 2 COTAs and a collaborative rehab team
- Department-specific orientation provided at start
- Dress code requires black scrubs or black collared shirt and khaki pants
- Current Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
- Active BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience
- Evaluation and treatment skills needed to cover a broad range of patients
- Illinois OT licensure required
