Executive Director for Advancement & Alumni Relations
Western Illinois University invites applications for the Executive Director for Advancement & Alumni Relations, a senior leadership position within the Foundation and Development department located in Macomb, Illinois.
Position OverviewThe Executive Director is responsible for the administrative unit encompassing Alumni Relations, the Foundation, and Development. You will supervise the Directors of these areas and the Scholarship Coordinator, and will serve as the Executive Officer of the Foundation, acting as the primary liaison between the WIU Foundation Board of Directors and the University Administration.
Key Responsibilities- Provide executive leadership for Alumni Relations, Foundation, and Development operations.
- Supervise Directors in each area and the Scholarship Coordinator.
- Serve as Executive Officer of the WIU Foundation, coordinating with the Foundation Board and university administration.
- Develop and execute fundraising and alumni engagement strategies, including major gift solicitation, campaign planning, and overall fundraising success.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance institutional goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree required;
Master’s Degree from an accredited institution preferred. - Minimum of three years senior administrative experience in advancement, foundation, or alumni relations.
- Demonstrated record of leadership, proven fundraising and major gift success, and campaign planning experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of development and alumni functions and ability to work with diverse groups.
- Degree must be conferred from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body).

SalaryRank & Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year (negotiable, commensurate with experience). Appointment date:
December 2025.
