Multi-Unit Team Leader at H&R Block leads operations across three tax offices. You’ll apply your people management experience to lead customer‑centric teams and accelerate seasonal tax business. Prior tax preparation experience is not required. The role starts with a flexible part‑time schedule in the fall and transitions to full‑time from January to April, including evenings and weekends as needed. This position is in‑person and not remote.
Responsibilities- Provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices and the customer‑facing teams within them to drive growth and ensure a high‑quality client experience
- Serve as the front‑line manager for leadership and development of associates; deliver outstanding client experience and achieve office growth objectives for three offices
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates
- Create associate work schedules across all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management
- Travel between offices as required
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment (where applicable)
- Support recruiting and interviewing for tax office associate positions (in partnership with the District General Manager)
- People management experience with a track record of growing and developing associates
- Ability to execute growth plans and cultivate a growth‑oriented culture
- Strong decision‑making and judgment in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a customer‑centric mindset
- Computer proficiency and ability to use MS Office
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns)
- Desirable: multi‑unit people management experience in retail, restaurant, banking, or related industry
