Job Summary

The Gear Cut Machinist at Triumph Geared Solutions - Macomb is responsible for the operation and basic maintenance of Gear Cut machines in the Gear Cut Department. The Gear Cut Machinist must produce high-quality products according to Triumph Gear Systems Gear Cut department operations manual.

Responsibilities

• Clock in & out of appropriate job operations
• Read, interpret, and apply information from engineering drawings
• Adhere to job plans per job travelers
• Set-up multiple types of jobs
• Operate CNC and Manual Hob, Shape, and associated machines
• Perform basic maintenance of CNC and manual gear cut machines
• Conduct first part quality inspections (Hard checks in Department)
• Upload CNC programs
• Use precision measurement equipment
• Install and maintain cutting tools
• Consistently produce quality parts
• Adhere to directions and instructions of direct supervisor
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Gear Cut operations
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints, planning, and manufacturing specifications
• Thorough understanding of or ability to quickly learn production equipment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

• Good hand-eye coordination
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs
• Able to stand for long periods
• Ability to use hand tools
