Job SummaryThe Student Success Center (SSC) is seeking candidates for the position of Federal Work Study peer tutor.
Responsibilities- Conduct academic tutoring in various settings: online, face-to-face, one-on-one, and in groups
- Assist with computer programs and tutorials as needed
- Participate in tutor certification training as part of the position's requirements
- Must be a current enrolled Middle Georgia State University student.
- Must be enrolled in 6 or more semester hours per semester.
- Must have a GPA of 2.0 or greater.
- Strong commitment to public service.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team member.
- Applicants for all Student Worker jobs are required to have completed a FAFSA for this academic year.
- Must be eligible for Federal Work Study funds
- Academic tutoring experience is desired, but not essential
- Current GPA of 3.00 or higher
- Freshman courses include Elementary Statistics, Anatomy and Physiology, Calculus, Principles of Chemistry, Physics, and French
- Sophomore and higher classified courses include Organic Chemistry, Intermediate Accounting, Business Statistics, Programming, Spanish, Nursing, World Literature, Biology, and Engineering
- Tutor additional subjects as needed in which an A or B is listed on a transcript.
