Job SummaryThis temporary full-time position supports flight instruction for full-time and continuing education students at the Eastman airport. The role is FAA-approved and represents the school to the FAA. Responsibilities include managing and scheduling student flight lessons and assisting with FAA practical test recommendations. The position reports to an assistant chief flight instructor.
Responsibilities- Provide flight instruction to aviation students.
- Assist faculty, aviation staff, and students with scheduling, documentation, and other flight department tasks.
- Assist in handling aircraft positioning on the ramp.
- Maintain students’ progress in a standardized training record.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support campus operations.
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
- CFII certificate with a current 2nd class medical.
- Sufficient experience to understand basic principles relevant to the duties, typically associated with at least two years of experience.
- Knowledge of university and school policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of admission, registration, and degree program requirements.
- MEI preferred.
- Knowledge of computer and job-related software programs.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Skill in decision-making and problem solving.
- Skill in interpersonal relations and dealing with the public.
- Skill in prioritizing and organizing workload.
- Skill in using office equipment (scanner, fax machine, copier).
- Attention to detail involving FAA regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
