Job SummaryThe Writing Center is seeking candidates for the position of Writing Center Tutor. The MGA Writing Center provides one‑on‑one consultations to assist students at all levels with all types of writing.
Responsibilities- Work one‑on‑one with clients in face‑to‑face and video conference settings, offering feedback, suggestions and encouragement to clients on their writing.
- Plan, publicize, and run special events.
- Offer writing workshops and possible classroom visits.
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training as required.
- Must be currently enrolled as a student at Middle Georgia State University.
- Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
- Faculty recommendation attesting to writing ability and a supportive personality.
- Completion of ENGL 1101 and 1102, or the equivalent, with at least a
B. - Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- A current GPA of 3.00 or higher.
Employment offer is contingent upon completing a background investigation including a criminal background check demonstrating your employment eligibility with MGA, as determined by MGA in its sole discretion, confirmation of the credentials and employment history reflected in your application material and, if applicable, a satisfactory credit check.
