Job SummaryIn this position, students will have the opportunity to assist with departmental needs. The role includes assisting professors, staff, and students as assigned by the hiring manager.
Responsibilities- Help with daily operations of running the office (answering phones, making copies, distributing mail, assisting walk‑ins, etc.).
- Communicate professionally on the phone and in person to resolve or escalation inquiries.
- Answer general questions about the department or direct inquiries to the appropriate person.
- Assist staff and the department chair with other duties as assigned; may take on a special project based on student skills and interests, including but not limited to social media, the Mac and/or Art Lab, course assistance (i.e., assisting with set‑up for film/digital lab courses), digital media management and/or creation, and student outreach.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Currently enrolled student at Middle Georgia State University for at least 6 credit hours, with some or all classes on the Macon campus.
- Must be able to work a set schedule Monday – Friday.
- Knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), social media platforms, Canva, etc.
- Skills:
critical and creative thinking, oral and written communication, and attention to detail.
