We emphasize career preparation in the behavioral sciences through lifelong learning. The department offers an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, and a Doctorate in Public Safety.
Job SummaryThis tenure‑track position is an Assistant Professor of Psychology with an open area of specialization. The institution seeks candidates with specializations in Biopsychology, User Experience Design/ the Psychology of UX, Cognitive Psychology, Sensation and Perception, Personality, Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Candidates should be prepared to teach Introduction to Psychology and additional courses such as Biopsychology, Statistics for Psychology, Research Methods, Experimental Psychology, Senior Capstone in Psychological Science, Abnormal Psychology, or Cross‑Cultural Psychology.
The standard teaching load is 4 courses per semester. The role also includes student mentoring, supervising research, university service, scholarship, and travel among campuses. It is a ten‑month faculty position with optional summer courses and requires regular on‑campus presence. Teaching responsibilities will be face‑to‑face and online.
- Teach four courses per Fall and Spring semester for the B.S. program in Psychology.
- Serve on university, school, and department committees.
- Conduct scholarship and research activities.
- Mentor undergraduate students.
- Pursue continuous improvement in teaching.
- Engage in activities aimed at improving student success.
- Maintain regular campus presence.
- Doctorate in Psychology or Neuroscience (or closely related field) from a regionally accredited university. ABD is considered if conferred prior to appointment.
- Experience in a university setting.
- Experience that warrants a tenure‑track appointment.
- Experience teaching related courses at the college level.
- Experience with online course delivery is a plus.
- Letter of interest, including your teaching philosophy.
