Job SummaryThe MARC provides free tutoring for students in mathematics courses. As a tutor, you will conduct individual and group sessions, support students with learning platforms, technology, and study techniques, and maintain tutoring logs.
Responsibilities- Conduct one‑on‑one and group tutoring sessions face‑to‑face or online.
- Assist students with platform navigation (ALEKS, D2L) and technology use (TI‑84, etc.).
- Coach students on study skills, note‑taking, and scheduling.
- Participate in tutor training and course embedding.
- Schedule appointments, manage phone communications, and record tutoring data.
- Eligible for Federal Work Study.
- Current Middle Georgia State University student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
- GPA of at least 3.00.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable with basic technology.
- Proficiency in mathematics, demonstrated by an A in a math course or comparable achievement (e.g., high SAT/ACT math scores).
Employment offer is contingent upon completing a background investigation, including a criminal background check and verification of credentials and employment history.
