As a Nutrition Educator with the North Central Health District’s WIC program, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals working to protect the health and well-being of communities across the state by supporting vital public health initiatives.

This full-time Nutrition Educator position serves WIC clients across multiple locations throughout the district. The position is based at the Felton Homes WIC Office in Macon, GA, where the employee will work three days per week (Monday, Thursday, and Friday). The remaining work schedule includes Tuesdays at the Twiggs County Health Department in Jeffersonville, GA, and Wednesdays at the Wilkinson County Health Department in Irwinton, GA.

This role provides an opportunity to support the health and well-being of families across the district.

Job Responsibilities Under supervision, promotes, maintains, and improves individual and community health by assisting individuals and communities to adopt healthy behaviors. Collect and analyze data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs designed to encourage healthy lifestyles, policies and environments.

Duties & Responsibilities Assess nutritional status and special needs of women, infants, and children from health records, dietary questionnaires, and knowledge of community issues.

Provide counseling and develop care plans for women, infants, and children who meet high-risk criteria.
